Polly has called for the Number 9 bus from Ramsgate to Canterbury to be restored, saying that reinstating the route would be a huge boost for local job opportunities, for students, and for people travelling to health appointments.

You can watch a video of her speaking by clicking here.

Speaking in the House of Commons she said:

“Fundamentally, coastal communities – much as we have many assets – are at the end of the line. I think it’s particularly important that we… connect people to the opportunities for growth, and breaking down the barriers to opportunity, which are two of our key missions as a country.

I would specifically like to urge anyone who was listening from Stagecoach and Kent County Council to restore the Number 9 bus from Ramsgate to Canterbury. One of our hospitals is there, two of our universities are there, the FE colleges are there.

I know children, young people, and adults, whose opportunities are limited and cut back because that Number 9 service no longer exists.”
