Polly Billington MP commemorating the 85th anniversary of Operation Dynamo in Ramsgate

Polly has joined the commemorations to mark 85 years since Operation Dynamo in Ramsgate.

The anniversary marks the historic moment when the little ships sailed from Ramsgate to get 300,000 men to safety from Dunkirk during World War II. The day featured a parade led by the Band of the Royal Marines, beginning near the Ramsgate Tunnels and concluding at the Custom House, where Prince Michael of Kent received the Royal Salute and unveiled a new commemorative plaque, joined by the High Sheriff of Kent, Jonathon Neame, Madame Mayor of Ramsgate, Cllr Laurie Hudson, and other distinguished guests. It was a moving reminder of Ramsgate’s proud role in this remarkable chapter of our history.
